ATS User: Is it really that important to keep our documents in our “desktop on Dropbox folder?

IT Help: Absolutely it is.

ATS User: Why?

IT Help:  So this true story doesn’t happen to you:  A colleague kept some files on the Mac desktop, outside their "desktop on Dropbox" folder.  The internal drive of their Mac died.  Those files were lost.

If the files were simply kept in the desktop on Dropbox folder, those files would still be available because that folder is backed up to Dropbox in real time.  You can never lose files following this simple method.

Conversely, internal drives on our Macs are not backed up, so when they die, the files die as well.

Just a reminder.
