Zoom Tip: Dialing In and being muted

Hi everyone:

Q.  When a participant who has dialed in is muted by the host how can the participant unmute themselves?

A.  The host should have enabled the option to allow participants to unmute themselves.  Assuming that’s done, when a host Mutes someone (or the group) the participants who are dialed in hear a message that says something like “to unmute yourself, press the star key and the number 6”.  If they are using the Zoom app, they can always unmute themselves by tapping the unmute icon.
